Prof. Dr. Mehmet Erhan Türkoğlu

Dear Colleagues,

As the Neurovascular Surgery Teaching and Education Group of the Turkish Neurosurgical Society, we regard it as a core responsibility to elevate clinical standards in cerebrovascular microsurgery, endovascular neurosurgery, and comprehensive neurovascular care through structured educational programs and international scientific exchange and collaboration. In line with this commitment, as in preceding years, we continue our educational mission through our Neurovascular Symposium, which integrates deep anatomical and pathophysiological insight, technical and surgical mastery, and evidence-based, outcome-oriented clinical decision-making.

In this context, we are pleased to announce that our Neurovascular Symposium will be held as a joint meeting within the Southeast Europe Neurosurgical Society (SeENS) Congress, taking place in November 2026 in İzmir where lovely city of Turkey. This joint initiative—undertaken in close collaboration with our Surgical Neuroanatomy Teaching and Education Group—aims to deliver an advanced educational platform that integrates surgical neuroanatomy with contemporary neurovascular strategies and practice.

The scientific program has been structured around high-yield expert lectures, case-based decision conferences, and operative and endovascular video-based teaching sessions. Throughout the program, emphasis will be placed on technical nuances, pitfall recognition and complication anticipation, strategic planning, and key determinants of outcomes. Particularly for complex lesions in which strategy and timing can be as decisive as technical execution, the program will prioritize standardized decision-making frameworks, current evidence, and practical algorithms that can be directly implemented in daily clinical practice.

In addition, an Endovascular Pre-Meeting Course, Microneurosurgical Training and Microanastomosis Course will be organized prior to the congress under the hybrid neurosurgery school. The endovascular course is designed as an intensive educational activity focusing on procedural fundamentals and advanced considerations in neuroendovascular surgery, including access planning, device strategy, complication management, and case-based treatment selection. The detailed courses’ structure, registration information, and course capacity will be announced with the final congress program.

We would be honored to welcome you to this dedicated educational initiative during SeENS 2026. Your participation will strengthen scientific dialogue, support high-standard neurovascular education on an international platform, and contribute to lasting collaboration across the regional and global neurovascular community.

Sincerely,

Prof Mehmet Erhan Türkoğlu, MD
